Adrian Bartoszek, M.D., Ph.D.

Adrian Bartoszek, M.D., Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Adrian, holding a degree of Medical Doctor, currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioanalytics at the Medical University of Lublin. He obtained his Ph.D. degree at the Medical Faculty of the Medical University of Lodz, where he studied free fatty acid receptors as a pharmacological target in inflammatory bowel diseases. In 2020, he received the “Diamond Grant'” which he is currently implementing in the Department of Bioanalytics at the Medical University of Lublin. As a part of the grant, he conducts metabolomics and proteomics studies based on liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry to assess the effects induced by caffeine and topiramate, and their mutual interactions, in a model of pententrazol-induced seizures in zebrafish larvae. Adrian is also a multiple winner of the Minister of Health scholarship programme. He completed the Polish Clinical Scholars Research Training organized by Harvard Medical School.

Hanna Nikolaichuk, Ph.D.

Hanna Nikolaichuk, Ph.D.

Post-doc

Hanna is a chemist specializing in bioactive compound research and advanced analytical techniques. She earned her Ph.D. from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin in 2023, where her research focused on profiling crude plant extracts to identify bioactive compounds with enzyme inhibition, antibacterial, antioxidant and endocrine activities using HPTLC-based assays and MS techniques to elucidate their structure. Currently, she is employed as a researcher, working on LC-MS-based lipidomics and metabolomics. Recently, Hanna secured a grant to investigate the interactions between dietary flavonoids and proteins in relation to dementia treatment. Her research interests lie in discovering treatments and preventive measures for modern diseases to prioritize human health and well-being.
